Testimonial by Ray King, LMI-UK Managing Director
Mark Tonks and I first met in 2000 when he was the Divisional Manager of an international organisation and had selected a number of his team to participate on one of our LMI-UK leadership programmes. Mark stated at the time that the results he achieved were so impressive he chose to follow suit and describes his subsequent experience as ‘a pivotal moment’ in his life, a sudden realisation that life is too short to endure mediocrity you must seize opportunities when they present themselves. Three months later Mark joined Leadership Management UK. Seven years on Mark now maintains the position as one of our top performing directors, he runs a very successful business with three Associates.
Mark has tremendous energy that inspires others to aim higher. He is completely loyal and devoted to clients and his team, a constant, calm, supportive voice of encouragement available day and night. In Mark I saw something of myself, a passionate desire to help people by using the knowledge, insight, and experience gained over many years in a senior management role.
Mark has embraced the ethos of LMI-UK completely and works as an envoy for LMI-UK taking regular trips abroad to support LMI throughout Europe. He is proud to play an active role in the LMI global business and is real example of being dedicated to best practice.
Since being asked by me to take on a secondary role of Business Development Manager for LMI-UK Mark now assists with the induction training of all new recruits, organising our two-day bi-monthly Business Development Workshops that are attended by every director and associate. Mark also offers continual support by phone and regular nationwide visits to his fellow directors. There is no doubt that LMI-UK has become stronger, more recognisable, and more ambitious as a result of Mark’s contribution, dedication and by being a vocal advocate of business development through people.
Mark has become a product of the product, an ambassador for the leadership training and development industry, a powerful figure in business development, and a leader of people.
