The Launch of The Leadership Lunch in Scotland

The first Leadership Lunch in Scotland took place on 22 February at Celtic Football Club in Glasgow, clients of LMI-UK.

Neale Carter hosted the prestigious event, entitled Becoming A Total Leader, which was attended by more than 40 business leaders from the region.

The special guest speaker was Roger Willey, Managing Director of Core Utility Solutions. Roger spoke of his responsibility for the overall performance of Core, part of Scottish Power, and how leadership was essential for the success of the business. Roger also explained that he is currently working through his second LMI Programme and how it has helped him develop Core.

The event included group discussion of business challenges and issues, which continued throughout lunch, and participants were encouraged to share their thoughts on a variety of leadership topics including how the best leaders, 'Total Leaders', excel in all parts and facets of leadership, in both their personal and business lives.

Testimonial from Celtic Football Club

"A year or so ago, Celtic identified that a small number of its senior managers had specific learning and development needs that were more likely to benefit from an individual, tailored, coaching approach rather than a more generic public course.

I had already been speaking to Neale Carter for some months before this about an LMI one-to-one leadership coaching solutions. These seemed well-suited to addressing our requirements. On a pilot basis, Neale therefore put together comprehensive, cost-effective programmes for two line-managers here. We are part-way through these programmes and both individuals are finding the techniques they are learning extremely useful. I have every confidence that both the individuals and the Company will benefit from Neale's support going forward.

In 2006 Celtic embarked upon the journey to becoming an Investors in People organisation, ultimately gaining formal IiP recognition in December 2007. The assessor was hugely complimentary about the LMI programme, which I'm sure was a significant factor in earning Celtic the prestigious IiP award."
