The Leadership Lunch
| The last Leadership Lunch of 2007 was held on 6 December at Aston Wood Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield and was hosted by Mark Tonks, LMI-UK Business Development Manager. The event was one of the biggest ever with almost 100 business leaders present. Guests indulged in their first Christmas lunch of the season and were treated to some wise words and inspiration from our two speakers: Stephan Wade from Coca-Cola has recently accomplished a once in a lifetime achievement by skiing to the North Pole with two colleagues raising an astonishing £35k for The Outward Bound Trust. A second presentation was given by Ian Harvey an ex-Royal Navy helicopter pilot who shared personal revelations on how he built a hugely successful dot-com business, the events that led to its collapse, and the subsequent inception of his latest enterprise, Harvey's Wines. The theme for the event was Total Leadership. The audience debated and discussed the challenges of leadership and were introduced to the LMI-UK Total Leader Concept. As the world of business changes and evolves, the need for effective leaders has increases. For companies to become truly empowering and innovative enterprises, they must develop leaders throughout the organisation. during the lunch we discovered how the successful business of the future is one where every individual is a creative, motivational leader. Also present were 17 students from Year 12 of The Arthur Terry School who have just completed their Young Leaders Academy program. The students, all aged between 16 and 17, impressed their illustrious peers and shone brightly as potential leaders of the future. The event was sponsored by Creative Media, the Marketing Design and PR agency behind LMI-UK who support and encourage business success through creative led marketing communications. Their approach is based on a deeper understanding of the challenges businesses face and developing communications that are creative, relevant, compelling and effective. Region: West Midlands |
