The Young Leaders Academy

Concept
Increased personal productivity and personal organisation combined with personal leadership and motivation are paramount to the success of today's busy executives.
The Young Leaders Academy was established to enhance these core principles in young students entering a critical two year period in their lives. Once embedded, these principles will serve to assist the students on an ongoing and continuous basis as they move forward with their careers and personal lives.

The Young Leaders Academy is targeted towards young people aged 16-17 (Year 12 students) who are entering a pivotal moment in their lives. It is a personal development programme that takes place over 10-12 weeks and is designed to help each participant in the following key areas:

  • Become more organised, focused, and purposeful
  • Grow to be more goal directed
  • Build on their existing strengths
  • Improve their self image, self confidence, and self motivation
  • Overcome self limiting obstacles
  • Produce a written plan for success
  • Develop as a 'Total Person'

Funding and Sponsorship
In order to provide this unique opportunity for students we need the help of the business community.
This means you!

Each programme carries with it a significant cost in terms of time and materials, which unfortunately is not available wholly from school funds. This is where you can help.

Our goal is to facilitate 40 students through the Young Leaders Academy in the next twelve months. We have secured funding for one-third of the cost but we need help to raise the remaining £19,000 - £475 per student.

Become a sponsor
We are seeking sponsorship from businesses who feel this initiative is worthwhile, valuable, and beneficial not only for the students but also for themselves.
Every manager and business owner appreciates the difficulty in finding good people to employ; we also understand the difficulties facing students in today's fast paced competitive market place. What better way to help young people on their way than to contribute to their development.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Want to be an integral part of this exciting initiative
  • Believe that you can contribute towards the development of leaders of the future
  • Can deliver support and encouragement to 40 young talented people
  • Wish to provide a constructive service to the community
  • This initiative is generating regional publicity with media and government alliances growing increasingly interested in our achievements and ambitions
  • The benefit to any business or individual is simple … you will be an advocate to a worthwhile and valuable cause, supporting a Young Leader of tomorrow and be a patron of someone's future success and achievement

" Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to participate in The Young Leaders Academy. I have now completed all my goals and just want to thank you for all your encouragement."
Danni Whitlock
Young Leaders Academy Graduate 2007

Danni's goal was to successfully complete Tough Guy, the original survival ordeal, a test of physical and mental endurance designed to take participants beyond their limits on torture rack obstacles known as The Killing Fields. This event's participants includes teams from the armed forces, police, and fire service.

" I have become more confident and find myself willing and enthusiastic to perform tasks previously would not have wanted to do. I have set goals within my long term ambitions so I can measure progress and make sure I am on the right track."
Sarah Brown

" The system Mark introduced to us is amazing and the lessons were inspirational. The course not only got me organised but it helped me to change attitudes and habits that I had thought were there to stay. After completing the programme I couldn't believe the amount I had achieved."
Charlie Langdell
Young Leaders Academy Graduate 2007

During the Academy programme Charlie set up a tutor class for students in lower years in her school so she could help children that needed additional support. Charlie dedicated her free time to assisting the students because she wanted to give something back once she realised the value and personal reward of supporting others.
