“During the Effective Personal Productivity programme I completed with Neale Carter, we covered a number of subject matters the most important of which for me was time management via improved planning, delegation and empowerment.
“A number of new concepts came to mind during the course, which formed the basis of an end of programme presentation to two company partners. A significant number of these ideas have now been implemented.
"Neale contributed considerably to the programme material, ensuring that all angles of every study session were discussed in appropriate detail. I am currently considering undertaking a further LMI Programme.”

Case Study
In July 2007 four employees were selected by Clive Owen & Co LLP to undertake leadership development training by specialist provider LMI-UK focusing in particular on improving productivity. The four people in attendance were:
- Carolyn Owers - Marketing Manager
- Simon Hook - Manager at the Durham Office
- Peter Taylor - Corporate Finance Associate Director
- Peter Edley - Director
On completion of the 6-month programme, leadership and vision, together with time management and prioritisation were amongst the key areas highlighted where significant improvement had been made.
This was supported by key comments made by the individuals who undertook the programme:
- “I am physically working less hours but am achieving more, my stress levels have reduced considerably”
- “I have personally delegated 8 hours per week on low pay off activities, and have now reallocated this time to work on achieving better results”
- “I now I have a better work/life balance”.
Neale Carter, LMI-UK Director in Scotland, facilitated the programme and coached and mentored the group throughout. He commented: "Working with such different individuals on a one-to-one basis and in group tasks is always a powerful process, and this group proved that making a series of simple changes, that we call the ‘Slight Edge’ can have a major impact on productivity. Completing the course together as a group and sensing each others achievements will help them to maintain the good habits they have learned through this course to achieve sustainable results."
Tony Luckett, Partner, who initiated the project was delighted with the results achieved, so much so that he is now looking to extend the programme to further staff. Speaking about the successful outcomes from the course, he said: "We have been impressed with the improvements in the delegates involved in the course and look forward to seeing the long term benefits of their working patterns. This has clearly benefited ourselves and would be of great benefit to many employers who significantly invest in their staff. The improved efficiency considerably outweigh the costs."
