Ricky
White is the Managing Director of Polaris Optics (UK) Limited, a specialist
rimless eyewear manufacturer with a Head Office in Sweden and a ‘sister’
company in Japan.
Several of Ricky’s colleagues in Sweden had worked on the Effective Personal Leadership programme and Staffan Preutz, Founder and Chairman, offered Ricky the opportunity to work on this programme in the UK.
The programme was facilitated at the company’s Milton Keynes office and met with Ricky every 2 to 3 weeks over a period of 6 months. Ricky also gained accreditation through the Institute of Leadership and Management for his work on this programme.
Ricky worked on key goals to increase sales and profitability, to unify the company and improve communication, and to improve his work-life balance.
Ricky commented ‘I feel I have gained a lot from my LMI journey. Not only have I developed new skills and focus, my existing strengths have also been highlighted and my self confidence increased as a result; all of these factors will help me to continue developing the management team and collectively we can grow the business’.
Ricky’s management team are subsequently working on the Effective Personal Productivity programme. As Ricky says ‘The skills I gained need to be shared and in the near future all key staff need to take a LMI journey’.
At the end of the Effective Personal Leadership programme, Ricky presented the outcomes to Staffan Preutz. Many benefits had been achieved including a focus on achieving the same company goals, enhanced motivation and improved delegation. Ricky also had more personal time for family interaction and recreation at weekends and to develop his hobbies of football, cycling and fly fishing.
